Our policy on rest/quiet time is as follows:
GTCC requires all children to have a rest/quiet time between noon & 2pm. Mats will be provided for those who sleep and a quiet area will be provided for those who do not sleep.
Rest: GTCC requires that all children attending the center for 4 or more hours have a rest.
Safety plan with one staff: All children after 4 hours are required to have a rest for 45 minutes maximum. When the naproom is settled and children are sleeping the staff member and non sleeping children will go to the greeting room for the remaining part of 45 minutes.
Safety plan with 2 staff: children will be placed in the greeting room with one staff member and have a 45 min rest. After the 45 min rest children will be allowed to remain in the greeting room with the staff quietly engaging in table top toys, puzzles or books until quiet time is over at 2:00 pm.
This is part of our parent contract. All parents agree to this policy when they sign the contract.
This parent agreed to this policy when she signed the contract upon registering her child. The staff at this center are held to the highest standard to provide exceptional care for all children in our program.
It is a shame that this parent was not truly forthcoming with all the events leading up to her termination of care.
Please feel free to call our center to set up an orientation appointment as we have afternoon spaces available.

My daughter has been going to this daycare for a couple years. It has always been a great place for her. However a new teacher named Gloria was hired. My daughter that's starting kindergarten in a few weeks and I told the teacher she doesn't need naps anymore. Every time she has a nap she stays up till midnight. I've told her once, I've told her twice and now she did it again the third time. I'm very upset that she doesn't listen to the parents and what they want. She told me that she needs to have a break sometimes too and that's why she naps. She also went on to say it's now company policy that she has a nap. We had an agreement that she would not nap anymore but she went ahead and did it anyways regardless what I had to say. She is very selfish and doesn't care about the parents. I have to work the next day and it's very rude to go against the parents wishes. The owner is great just she needs to hire better staff."
